  • Arthritis

  • Sickle Cell Disease

  • AIDS

  • Multiple sclerosis.

To certify your card, contact a registered doctor

You will need to get your medical marijuana card from a certified physician.

Be a certified IDP-approved physician and have a state's registration for health professionals. To find a licensed practitioner in your area who can diagnose and prescribe cannabis, contact the state department of health

Discuss a plan with your doctor

First, consult a doctor to receive medical marijuana. Your doctor and you will then work together to develop a treatment plan.

Register at the Health Department.

Certain states require medical marijuana patients in order for them to be able to locate the state's program. It can be tedious and bureaucratic, but it is often not difficult, especially if you have been recommended by your doctor.

Once the doctor has approved, your insurance company will send an email to confirm. They will also mail you paper copies of any documentation. This allows you keep them safe until you need them again.

Take your card with you to the dispensary.

It's possible for your card to take several weeks to arrive. A temporary cannabis card may be issued that you can use at dispensaries.

Talk to your pharmacist if your dispensary offers this option.
